Dr. Mohammed Ahmad M.D.

Dr. M. Ahmad is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is primarily a child psychiatrist and sees patients at both Peachford Behavioral Hospital and in private practice in the Roswell/Alpharetta/Dunwoody area. He completed his General Psychiatry training in Kansas City at the University of Missouri and went on to become an associate professor at Marshall University until 1997.

He then completed a fellowship in Child Psychiatry at Emory University. His academic interests include serotonin syndrome, delusions following temporal lobe manipulation and surgery, and right hemisphere syndrome, and Dr. Ahmad has published papers in these areas. He enjoys speaking to others about various aspects of psychiatry and is frequently invited as a guest speaker by different organizations.

Dr. Ahmad has a conservative treatment approach and works to get the best results possible with the smallest doses of medication. He enjoys keeping up with the latest research in psychiatry. He is one of the few child psychiatrists in the Atlanta area who is an expert in treating childhood bipolar disorder.

We use a multidisciplinary approach to your care, and our board certified psychiatrists leads teams of nurse practitioners, physicians’ assistants, and therapists to treat a wide range of disorders.

Edward Prosser PA

Edward encourages awareness and insight of mental and overall health by cultivating relationships with the health care team, patients and family of patients. He engages with his patients to eliminate all barricades to treatment, to educate his patients in focused and individualized treatment plans and to deliver world-class compassionate service.

Edward is dedicated to helping patients achieve emotional healing, resilience, and a more fulfilling life by working collaboratively with me, other providers, nurses and administrative staff to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of mental health conditions. Through his leadership and experience, Edward expertly utilizes all resources at his disposal to provide warm and empathetic care and support.

Julie A Hammond PMHNP-BC

Julie is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a strong passion for helping others during their time of need. She has over two decades of experience in various roles in the medical field, that include working in Emergency Medical Services as both an EMT and Paramedic and in the Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse.

She obtained her undergraduate nursing degree at Mercer University in 2019. In 2020, she pursued her passion for mental health and started working as a psychiatric nurse in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. She obtained a graduate nursing degree at Georgia State University in 2023. At Atlanta Behavioral Medicine, Julie continues to use her knowledge, experience, and compassion to deliver evidence-based psychiatric care in a warm and non-judgmental environment.

Genroy Hylton Roy PMHNP-BC

Genroy is a passionate and caring Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He is experienced in providing evidence-based mental healthcare to all ages. With over a decade of experience in diverse healthcare settings Genroy has developed an art of authentic connection with patients through active listening and allowing them to take part in the development of their treatment plan.

Professionally, he has worked in diverse roles and numerous care settings. He began his career working with patients directly in their homes as a CNA. He then transitioned to working as an RN in the Intensive Care Unit, inpatient Detox, and in Corrections in the mental health infirmary. It is in these settings that he felt a pull to help the mental health population in a greater way, ultimately leading him to pursue his Master’s Degree to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

With a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and a passion for delivering compassionate care, Genroy works closely with patients to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of mental health conditions. From anxiety and depression to trauma and relationship issues, Genroy offers expert guidance, support, and evidence-based therapies to promote emotional healing, resilience, and overall well-being. With a warm, non-judgmental approach, Genroy creates a safe and supportive environment for patients to share their concerns and work towards a more fulfilling life.

Education And Training

Our doctors have been board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. We have also been certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and have also received certifications in electroconvulsive therapy. Our nurse practitioners are fully licensed and work under close physician supervision.
